This Privacy Policy describes how Hushdot Ltd handles information when you visit hushdot.com or use our Chrome extension. The short version: we're an ad-and-tracker blocker, and it would be embarrassing if we tracked you.
01 Information we collect via the website
When you visit hushdot.com, we may collect anonymous analytics (page views, referring site, approximate region) through cookies, but only after you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, we collect nothing. If you email us, we store what you send us while we reply, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
02 What the Hushdot extension does NOT collect
Hushdot runs entirely on your device. The extension does not:
- Track the URLs you visit or your browsing history
- Read the content of pages you visit (beyond identifying ad and tracker elements to block, which happens locally)
- Collect your passwords, keystrokes, form inputs, clipboard, or files
- Access device identifiers, IP addresses, or geolocation
- Transmit any data to third parties or advertisers
- Sell or share information, we have nothing to sell
We update our blocklist every 15 minutes by fetching a signed file over HTTPS. That is the only network activity the extension generates.
03 Sync subscription (optional)
If you pay for our sync tier, we store your blocklist preferences and allow-list under an account you create with an email address. Those preferences are encrypted at rest and are never shared or sold. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard.
04 Your rights
Under UK DPA 2018 and GDPR, you can ask us for a copy of any data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you're using only the free extension, we likely don't hold any data about you at all, but contact privacy@hushdot.com and we'll confirm.
05 Third-party services
Our website uses Plausible for anonymous analytics, loaded only with cookie consent. No other third-party tracking runs on the site or inside the extension.
06 Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top if this policy changes. Substantial changes will be announced via the extension and the site.
